Dr. Pan Guocheng is President and CEO of Hanking Group. With more than 30 years of experience in the global mining industry, he brings expertise in technology, capital markets and enterprise management. He previously held senior technical and management positions at international mining companies including Anglo American and Gold Fields, working across mineral exploration, resource modelling, mine design, production management and asset restructuring.

Dr. Pan has served as President of Hanking Group’s mining business, President of Hanking Group, and President and Chairman of China Hanking Holdings Limited, with responsibility for the development, strategic planning and overall management of the Group’s principal mining business. He was selected for Liaoning Province’s “Thousand-Hundred-Thousand” programme for introducing high-level overseas talent and has promoted the establishment of a professional, specialised and international core operating team.

During his tenure, Dr. Pan has led the acquisition, development, operation and divestment of several major international mining projects and helped the Group’s mining business complete an initial public offering in Hong Kong. He also promotes the digital transformation of traditional mining through artificial intelligence and other technologies, strengthening Hanking’s intelligent and international operating capabilities.

Dr. Pan earned his bachelor’s degree in geochemistry and master’s degree in digital geology from Peking University, and a PhD in mining and mineral economics from the University of Arizona. He was the first Chinese recipient of the President’s Award of the International Association for Mathematical Geosciences. His book, Information Synthesis for Mineral Exploration, was published by Oxford University Press, and he has authored more than 100 academic papers and technical reports.
