Founder and Chairwoman of Hanking Group

Ms. Yang Min is the founder and Chairwoman of Hanking Group. She also serves as Chairwoman of Hanking Microelectronics (Liaoning) Co., Ltd., Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of Hanking’s Indonesian project company, and Honorary Chairwoman of the Board of China Hanking Holdings Limited.

Ms. Yang began her entrepreneurial career in 1982 with a pair of scissors, establishing the Jingjia Woollen Garment Factory in Fushun County and serving as its director. In 1992, she founded Hanking Group, the first private joint-stock enterprise in the Fushun region. By 2008, Hanking Group had become the largest privately owned iron ore producer in Liaoning. She subsequently led the acquisition of a world-class laterite nickel-cobalt project in Indonesia and a major gold mine in the Southern Cross region of Western Australia; promoted the successful listing of selected high-quality iron ore assets on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange; established Shenyang Hanking Precision Bearing Co., Ltd. and Hanking Microelectronics (Liaoning) Co., Ltd.; and acquired the MEMS division of Maxim Integrated in the United States.

While developing the business, Ms. Yang has remained deeply committed to the social responsibilities of entrepreneurship. She served as a deputy to the 11th National People’s Congress and has held positions including Vice Chair of the Presidium of the China Mining Association, Vice President of the Private Metallurgy Chamber of Commerce of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, Vice Chairwoman of the Liaoning Federation of Industry and Commerce, Chairwoman of the Private Mining Chamber of the Liaoning General Chamber of Commerce, and Honorary Chairwoman of the Fushun Charity Federation.

Ms. Yang was named one of China’s Top Ten Women in the Economy in 2005. She has received the titles of National Model Worker, National March 8th Red-Banner Holder on two occasions, one of the first 100 Outstanding Builders of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, National Outstanding Entrepreneur for Employee Care, and National Outstanding Entrepreneurial Woman. Her provincial distinctions include the inaugural Liaoning Builder Medal and the Most Caring Individual Donor award at the first Liaoning Charity Awards.
