On December 29, the technology revamping of round billet caster and hot trial run of Toyo Steel succeeded with the effort of the staff in steelmaking workshop and related department.
The electric furnace delivered current on 12:28, and the molten steel container started casting on 16:43. The pulling ingot succeeded on 16:45, and the cutting went smoothly on 17:20. The people on the spot were exciting for seeing three firedrakes dancing. The leaders from Tianjin Pipe (Group) Corp. offered their congratulations. Madam Yang, together with Mr. Wu Wei, CEO of Iron & Steel Division was being on the spot for sharing the happiness with employees.
With the success of the revamping, the square billet continuous caster can produce round billet of 400mm diameter. The products can be supplied to Tianjin Pipe (Group) Corp. after inspection, and the company will step into the market of steel tube bloom for petroleum.
